Apexi Power FC on Corolla XRS (with Red-frau Harness)

First off here are the materials we need:
-Fresh XRS lol

-Redliner9k and Frau_GTS harness kit
Includes the following:
a01dc91d79ae02d10390454d81e77d5d Apexi Power FC on Corolla XRS (with Red-frau Harness)
1 harness that goes to both ECU
1 coolant sensor adapter
1 Coolant sensor
1 Harness with 2 wires for coolant sensor

-And set of hand tools like blades, screw drivers ect. (basic tools)

1: Lest begin on the engine compartment, locate the coolant hose
Here on the picture you can see it on the botton right

We are going to cut it so we can interrupt it and place the coolant sensor adapter with the sensor so the PFC can recognize temperature.
I choose to cut it on this spot right before the intake closer to the block above the transmission so it can look cleaner.

Grab the cutter and cut the hose so we can place the coolant sensor adapter.

(Note: Make sure you put something under the hose to prevent a mess before you cut it because it will leak coolant!)

Once is cut introduce each of the clamps that came with the coolant sensor adapter on each end of the hose and then place the coolant sensor adapter on each end of the hose putting them back together using the coolant sensor adapter as a hose coupler.

Make sure you tight well the clamps to prevent leaks. After your done the hose should look like this with the coolant adapter installed.

Step 2
Now with the coolant sensor adapter out of the way is time to pass through the fire wall the cable for the sensor.

Arround the arrow on the picture above you will notice that a whole lot of wires go inside the car from the engine bay. Locate this and with a screw driver move it to the side and pass the 2 wires thru there.

Once you pass them go inside the car under the steering column and spot the wires you just passed, pull them out (considering you need some on the engine bay) enough so you can get to the other side of the side were later on we will be placing the ECU.

Step 3
Now from here on everything is pretty much plug and play!
Lest put everything apart so we can get to the ECU and plug everything…

First take off the ECU cover located right under the glove box by removing 2 pins located on each corner, take them off and the cover will come off allowing you to see the ECU and the stock harness…

Now is time to take out the glove box so we can have more room to work and also to place PFC on its final place.

First open the glove box and note that there is a screw on the right

Unscrew that and after just pull up and squeeze the glove box to get it out…

Once is out you will be able to see clearly the ECU with the STOCK harness plugged in, unplug them from the ECU by pressing with button on the top with your fingers (it should come out easy).

Then grab the harness that was send to you and plug in the coolant temp sensor and plug it in the harness, there is only one way to plug this in. There is no way to get this wrong, plug it in where everything belongs, the stock ECU plugs will be marked as well as the PFC ECU (remember that both ECU are working in parallel).

Now that everything is plugged in go back to the front and put Teflon on the coolant sensor (screwing part) to prevent leaks.

Then just plug in the plug (you passed the wires in the car earlier)
3c207214d96ebc499fde125b50bf37e6 Apexi Power FC on Corolla XRS (with Red-frau Harness)
After everything is plugged in make sure that everything was done right, check and recheck connections. Then after you check everything WITHOUT turning on the car put the key in the ignition to make sure gauges and signs are working together with the PFC commander.

After you make sure that everything works the way is supposed to, put everything back together, I recommend you to put the ECU on this spot

b27bade2a8703c594997f5f42a8c8588 Apexi Power FC on Corolla XRS (with Red-frau Harness)

Zip tide every cable you can and secure ECU too… Put everything back together and everything should look stock like nothing had ever happened!

Make sure everything work again by turning on the ignition switch without turning on the car, after you make sure everything works, and fill up the coolant so you can FIRE HER UP!!!!!! Lol

Let her heat up and there you go, fully functional PFC on the corolla with temp gauge working and constant lift through every gear
