heres a diy for a K&N or TRD drop in filter, the reuseable ones, not those paper ones you buy for $20 at autozone
this is the same for both K&N & TRD. For afe filters its almost the same, it just doesnt need to be oiled, just
so you will need
K&N Recharge Kit
Now lets check that dirty air filter
yea not really clean is it
well now get the air filter cleaner
now spray both side of the filter and let them sit for 10 mins,
then get to the sink (or hose), let the water run slowly on the top of the filter
top
bottom
do this cleaning about 2-3 times more (depending on how dirty the filter is)
*mine was pretty dirty so i had to clean it twice*, but 2 times should be enough
be sure to let it dry, so leave it in the sun for a couple hours or just chill for a few hours, also shake out some of the water to help it dry out a bit
next once the filter is dry
put back the air filter cleaner to the side and grab the air filter oil
now spray the bottom of the filter with the oil, be about 4-6 inches away
make sure to get the oil evenly on the filter *do not over oil it*
*sorry, dont have pics while i was oiling it*
next let the filter sit for a good 30-40 mins
then install it back in the stock airbox and enjoy
