before you start turning the screw, make sure the hand brake its down, otherwise the drum will not come off.

now, once the hand brake its down, start turning the screw…. you will notice that you get to a point where its hard to keep turning…. so brag the vise-grip and grip it with spare tire screw…. keep turning till you hear a BIG CLICK. if you keep turning and you dont hear anything, STOP, uncrew the screw and place it into the other hole and do the same…. you will notice that the drum will start to come off.

once you take off the drum, you will see this

you will need to clean the shoes and the drum with drum brake cleaner, you can find it at any auto parts… i currently dont have one, but cleaning it will be the best for your drums shoes. here is a pic of the drum dirty….

Now the adjusting part…..on the shoes, right behind the wheel studs you will see this….. right on this same pic, you can see a little wheel that has a lot of spoke, i wish i could know the name of it, but its there in the pics

Now, grap the flat head screw driver and start turning that little wheel upwards
depanding on how you want them you will adjust it… everytime you turn it up, you will hear a click…. dont do it to many time, otherwise you wont be able to put the drum back on…. by doing this, you will notice that you handbrake makes about 3-5 clicks… and your brake will have a fast and better response when braking….. to test the hand brake you will need to put the drum back on and pull the E-brake up.

NOTICE: if you go downwards, your hand brake will go all the way up and your brakes will have a slow response when braking, so make sure you go upwards when adjusting, also COUNT HOW MANY CLICKS YOU MAKE AND DO THE SAME AMOUNT OF CLICKS ON THE OTHER DRUM.

MAKE SURE YOU TEST YOUR CAR FOR BRAKEING RESPONSES ON A SAFE PLACE.
