make sure you use caliper paint or high engine temp paint rated at 1200 degrees.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED-
high temp enigine paint rated at 1200 degrees
brillo pad and bucket with dishwashing liquid, hydration, caliper/high temp paint, scissors, xacto knife, 2 jackstands, towel, necessary amsking material to prevent overspray, and a picture for referrence where to mount.
STEP1
clean the caliper thoroughly using dishwashing liquid and a brillo pad or spray brake cleaner. (i didnt have any and couldnt afford any. sad my life.)
rinse and wipe caliper after cleaning it, you can repeat again if you have dirtaaaaaaay calipers.
STEP2
now cut out the template. i did this because it was near impossible to guesstimate the area the template was to be mounted with so much access. do not cut to close to the matrix cut out though. leave a triangle cut out so you can pull off the protective layer with ease.
note: you can also use left over sticker to use as masking tape.
STEP3
Position the sticker template and apply to the clean caliper surface. When applying the template use a fair amount of pressure to make sure it sticks to the surface.
STEP4
peel off the surface layer, protecing the sticker.
note: remove it slowly in a perpendicular roll. look at the pic it should give you an idea, doing so allows the middle sticker of ‘A’ and ‘R’ not to peel off.
STEP5
Mask of the area and double check to make sure you dont have any areas missed. Then spray!
FOLLOWING STEP5 ATTEND TO THE DIRECTIONS OF THE CALIPER/ HIGH TEMP ENGINE PAINT RECOMMENDATION OF COATS AND DRYING PROCESS.
STEP6
when dry slowly peel in a perpendicular motion like step 4. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO DO SO IN A PATIENT MANNER BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE A THICK COAT THE PAINTED SURFACE CAN CHIP UNEVENLY.
END PRODUCT-
PS-i chose blue to match the fn01R-C lettering on the rim. however i recommend using a more vibrant and noticable color if you really want this mod to be seen. im happy with the appearance but since the template lettering appears small from far it can be hard to see if you use a soft color. i intended this to be a suttle mod only noticeable if you know what your looking at.
this is a great mod to be an alternative to painting the whole caliper. be creative and maybe do this on an already painted caliper. up to you…
