its a pretty easy mod to do…and more than worth it for those who have gotten cels from or 04+ xrs’ with injen intakes….

what youll need:
k&n crankcase filter part no. 62-1040 – - heres the box for it…

a rubber “bypass cap” – - the only way to get one with the correct size (3/4″ inside diamater) was to buy an assortment…

the part # is 02253 for the assortment

a section of rubber hose with a 1″ inside diameter +/-

2 adjustable clamps

all you have to do is remove the filter box….take off the arm that normall extents upwards into the stock air intake line, and attach the section of hose to the filter box with the crankcase filter at the other end of the hose…

in this pic you can kinda see the connection of the hose to the filter box….its really simple once youre in there….

sorry i didnt take the filter box out….but the clip that holds it in place got broken when i installed the cai the first time and its just zip tied in there and i was too lazy to cut the tie and re-tie it later….

here you can see what the intake looks like w/o the hose on it….

so heres the rubber cap…
